ABSi’s project management disciplines assure on-time deliveries and getting it “right” for the customer within the agreed upon schedule and budget.
Without an effective project management framework, a data warehousing project will surely fail. ABSi’s project managers know how to establish this framework so the project will be successful. It starts with a solid partnering relationship with the client, and then extends to detailed project planning and tracking, with a “visible” schedule and discernible milestones, along with regular “deliveries.” This regular delivery of “product” (i.e. requirements documents, design reviews, prototypes, production increments) substantiates progress and confirms for everyone that the project is on course and “value” is being created.
All ABSi deliveries are maintained in a CM Library. Testing and QA processes permeate the project. All of our managers and technical leads are experienced veterans of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence implementations, and they work closely with our customers on tracking and monitoring progress. In addition to forward planning, the effective and flexible change management processes that we employ - in concert with our customers - will deal with the inevitable changes that will come about during a system implementation.
The ABSi project management discipline also goes beyond tracking “planned versus actual” completion of scheduled tasks. We prefer to work closely with our customers as one, integrated project management team during an engagement. This gives the customer both visibility into progress and the ability to most effectively collaborate with us on issues as they unfold. Active involvement is encouraged, particularly in the areas of user participation, which is a key project success variable.
